Bucs continue to surround their young Qb with weapons to grow with going forward as they selected WR Chris Godwin with the 84th pick in the 3rd round. Godwin can play on the outside or in the slot, he has the chance to develop into a quality number 2 WR who can play on the outside with Mike Evans. Godwin is only 20 so plenty of time to mature and become stronger as a player. Godwin does a great job of making contested catches and is a decent route runner with solid speed to stretch the field. At 6’1 209lbs with 4.42 speed, Godwin can make big plays down the field as he averaged over 16 yards per catch and had 16 tds over last two seasons.
Chris Godwin is a versatile receiver who can play the Z and in the slot. Has been compared to Pierre Garcon.

Hopefully, Godwin can get better with coach Monken and become an all around receiver and reach his full potential. My concern with Godwin is his small hands which leads to a lot of double catches on tape so hoping he can solve this issue. Route running needs to be more consistent, but overall can run all the routes and has the ability to be a playmaker down the road.
